Job summary

St Joseph’s Centre, Shankill is seeking Healthcare Assistants to join our dementia-focused care team. Join a dedicated staff committed to compassionate, person-centred care for residents living with dementia in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Applicants should have FETAC Level 5 Healthcare Support and relevant experience in elder care. Responsibilities include daily care, records maintenance, and engaging residents in social activities.

Qualifications

• Current experience in the care of the elderly and people living with dementia.
• Ability to be flexible, communicate effectively and multi-task as required.
• Demonstrate attitudes and beliefs consistent with being person-centred.
• Ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.
• Have an employment permit to allow you to work in Ireland.
• Have two to three years of experience in Ireland's Healthcare System.

Responsibilities

• Meet a patient’s physical and personal care needs to a high quality standard.
• Demonstrate person-centred attitudes and beliefs in daily practice.
• Maintain care records that evidence a person-centred approach.
• Support families and volunteers while promoting person-centred care.
• Assist in preparation and serving of meals to make mealtimes social.
