SimoTech have an opportunity for an experiencedDeltaV System Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will be a keyplayer in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of automated processoperations by focusing on system configuration, troubleshooting, and providingtechnical support.
Working on site at a large-scale biopharmaceuticalfacility in Cork, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintainingand optimising the DeltaV system, ensuring the smooth operation and optimisationof critical automation systems, all while ensuring compliance with industrystandards.
Requirements
KeyResponsibilities
- Manage and maintain the DeltaV system, ensuringoptimal performance, reliability, and compliance with site protocols and GMPstandards.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues,and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime and enhance reliability.
- Perform system updates and maintenance, includingsoftware upgrades, user account management, patching and configuration ofservers, workstations, and switches.
- Develop and modify control logic, graphics andconfigurations to meet evolving process and operational requirements.
- Ensure the security and integrity of DeltaV systemsby implementing and monitoring cybersecurity measures.
- Implement and maintain alarm management strategiesin line with industry standards.
- Participate in the planning and execution ofprojects involving DeltaV, including upgrades, expansions and new systeminstallations.
- Collaborate with vendors, contractors and internalteams to ensure project success.
- Maintain detailed documentation of systemconfigurations, changes and troubleshooting activities.
- Support audits and reviews by providing necessarydocumentation and system details.
- Develop and deliver training materials to Operatorsand other stakeholders on DeltaV systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices andnew developments related to Emerson DeltaV and process automation.
Key Requirements
- 3 rd level Degree in Engineering or similar, or relevant work experience.
- 3+ years’ experience with DeltaV DCS in aprocess automation life science manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Emerson DeltaV configuration,administration and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of control systemarchitectures, field instrumentation and industrial communication protocols(e.g., HART, Foundation Fieldbus, OPC and Modbus).
- Technical proficiency in areas such as WindowsServer administration, cybersecurity best practices, network configurations anddatabase management.
- Ability to managemultiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to beon-call for system support outside of normal working hours.
- Emerson DeltaV Certification in Emerson HCI and virtualisation ishighly beneficial.
