Job summary

Penguin Solutions in Dublin, Ireland, is seeking a Debug Technician to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues in our electronics. You will work from test procedures, schematics, and diagnostics to identify root causes and implement fixes.

Qualifications

Job Overview

The Debug Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues within our electronic devices, ensuring optimal functionality. The Debug Technician identifies defects, performs testing, and implements solutions to restore functionality. This role involves working from test procedures, electrical schematics, technical notes, diagnostics and component data sheets to identify and isolate the root cause of defective components, piece parts and sub-assemblies of failing products.

Responsibilities
  • Control, document and process all non-conforming material.
  • Set-up and operate test equipment in accordance with standard test procedures.
  • Provide technical support in all areas of manufacturing in support of functional test.
  • Participate in the development of new product procedures.
  • Assist engineering in the implementation of new test tools and support as needed.
  • Understand and follow all applicable ISO and job specific procedures.
  • Participate in quality and client meetings as required.
  • Responsible for the quality of work-in-process.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of work area and surrounding workspace.
  • May train other employees.
  • Support with other tasks and assignments as directed and necessary for the business.
Qualifications
  • Relevant industry experience required.
  • Experience with Linux Operating System.
  • Understanding of various test tools in Debug process.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of how to process Failure Mode Effective Analysis.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Material Review Board (MRB) Process and the implementation of MRBs.
  • Ability to understand and utilize assembly documentation such as, but not limited to, D-Tree, Schematics, BOMs, Visual Aids, Debug, Testing tools and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solution-focused, exercising sound judgement and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members and external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast-paced, matrixed team environment consisting of internal and external team members.
  • Analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Flexible approach to support requirements of a global organisation.

Compensation & Benefits

The base pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Ireland is €43,000 - €54,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
