Job summary

L’Arche Cork is seeking a Day Service Support Worker to join the day service team. The role involves administering medication, personal care, and providing individualized support to adults with intellectual disability, in line with person-centred planning.

The position is 35 hours per week over five weekdays and is a permanent contract. The successful candidate will work with the Day Service Co-Ordinator to support activities, maintain safeguarding standards, and promote independence.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 qualification in social care or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a care or disability environment.
• Full clean driving licence – local driving is essential.
• The post is subject to Garda vetting.

Responsibilities

• Be responsive to service needs and individual needs within the day service team.
• Build trusting, person-centred relationships with the people you support.
• Encourage participation in activities of interest inside and outside the L’Arche community.
• Communicate regularly with the day service team to share information, safeguarding, planning and risk assessment.
