Job summary

G MASS is seeking an experienced Databricks Technical Lead to own strategic data platforms and cloud-based applications within a financial services setting. The role focuses on technical direction, architecture across Databricks and AWS, scalable practices, and full SDLC delivery.

You will collaborate with Development, Business Analysis, QA, Application Support, IT Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams to deliver robust solutions across complex banking systems.

Qualifications

• Enterprise SDLC experience in financial services
• Strong Databricks experience with Spark/PySpark, Delta Lake and Workflows
• Proficiency in Python and/or Scala
• Hands-on Terraform / IaC and AWS (EC2/Lambda/ECS/RDS/S3/IAM) experience
• Experience with data governance in regulated environments
• Experience with CI/CD processes and Jenkins
• Degree in CS or related discipline (or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Lead development and enhancement of banking data platforms across Databricks and AWS
• Design and optimise large-scale data pipelines using Spark/PySpark and Delta Lake
• Own data governance and Unity Catalog design and implementation
• Manage cloud deployments using Terraform and IaC best practices
• Maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge resources
• Provide technical leadership through reviews and mentoring
• Support architectural design for scalability, performance and cost efficiency
• Drive CI/CD improvements across cloud and on-prem environments
• Promote clean coding standards and automated testing
