Job Description
Job Title: Database Systems Administrator (Senior) Location: Dublin 4, Ireland (Hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week) Contract / Permanent: 12 Months, with further extension. Start date: November 2025 Experience Level Required: It is a mandatory requirement, that the Resource proposed has the equivalent of: Senior level experience (i.e. has >7 years’ experience) directly relevant database management and development experience across a minimum of one of Oracle, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL database technologies.
Minimum of 5 years telemetry experience with experience implementing telemetry across database technologies Qualification: It is a mandatory requirement, that the Resource proposed hold the following qualifications or equivalents: A qualification at Level 8 on the NFQ major award (i.e. honours degree), or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics or other relevant field.
Key Experience/Competencies/Skillsets: The following Experience/Competencies/Skillsets are applicable to this Role.
- Experience of using a wide array of database technologies, including Oracle, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience in managing Oracle 10g or higher on a Windows O/S platform.
- Experience managing databases containing GIS spatial data, including spatial plugin management
- Experience of designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance and seeking to optimise in-application procedural SQL statements as necessary and establishing best practices.
- Experience of providing ongoing support for newly developed or existing systems.
- Experience of providing expertise in the full development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
- Experience of managing legacy databases, including migration and redevelopment of legacy systems and databases.
- Experience implementing, configuring, and maintaining telemetry across database technologies using tools such as ELK.
- Experience of leading complex projects/programmes which include multiple stakeholders, processes and datasets across multiple processes, internal business units and external organisations
