Job summary

Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch is seeking a Data Solutions Delivery Lead to drive data strategy, governance and delivery within the IT department in Dublin.

The role focuses on developing the data solutions roadmap, aligning technical solutions with the broader data strategy, and governing data lineage and master data quality. A small team will be led and upskilled, with collaboration across IT and business stakeholders.

Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch is looking for a Data Solutions Delivery Lead.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the IT Department with responsibilities including:

• Leading contributor to data solutions strategy
• Develop existing data solutions roadmap
• Ensure alignment of technical solutions with wider data solutions strategy
• Implementation and Management of Data Governance and lineage
• Influence and upskilling of small team of data solutions delivery professionals
• Responsible for the quality of master data in key systems and ensure that data models and mapping are documented appropriately

IT works closely with local Business Change, local subject matter experts and key 3rd parties to deliver and manage IT solutions that support the business strategy of the General Insurance Business for Zurich Ireland.

Your Role

As a Data Solutions Delivery Lead you will play a key role in the IT Department including:

• Leading contributor to data solutions strategy
• Develop existing data solutions roadmap
• Ensure alignment of technical solutions with wider data solutions strategy
• Implementation and Management of Data Governance and lineage
• Influence and upskilling of small team of data solutions delivery professionals
• Responsible for the quality of master data in key systems and ensure that data models and mapping are documented appropriately

Duties will include but will not be limited to:

• Drive consumption and use of data as a self-service tool, embedded in the wider business.
• Democratized to empowered teams with clear supportive guardrails.
• Establish and maintain data management policies and standards that ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Working on cross functional project team implement complex business solutions
• Upskilling of & supporting existing team members
• Ensure consistent delivery of quality master data for consumption by stakeholders across the business

Additional Job Functions:

• Builds good working relationships with Enterprise Solutions Lead, Enterprise Architect, Team members within IT Department and Project Management.
• Work closely with Management Information & Data Services Team, Actuarial, Finance and other relevant stakeholders across our business
• Ability to help keep team motivated in high pressure situations.
• Responds maturely to ambiguity and complexity.

As a Data Solutions Delivery Lead your skills and qualifications will include:

Technical competencies include:

Key Technologies: Databricks Expertise, Cloud Architecture, Spark (PySpark), Unity Catalog etc.

Methodologies: Agile, Waterfall

Database: SQL Server 2012, 2016, 2019

DevOps Tools: GitHub, Confluence, Jira

Experience in some or any of the following is advantageous:

• Business Objects, Tableau, Power BI,SAS
• Qlik Replicate, Informatica
• Sequel Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• JSON, XML

Primary work location is Blackrock, Dublin and occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
