Job summary

MCS Group in Dublin City Centre is seeking a Data Scientist for a 7-month day-rate contract, with 2 days onsite per week. You will deliver machine learning solutions from data preparation and modelling through to deployment, working closely with data engineers and UI engineers and presenting results to stakeholders.

You'll build models, evaluate performance, and contribute to AI initiatives such as document extraction and RAG pipelines, using Python and SQL on large datasets, while aligning with

Qualifications

• 2–5 years' experience delivering data science or machine learning projects.
• Strong Python skills, including pandas, NumPy, SciPy and scikit-learn.
• Strong SQL and experience working with large datasets.
• A good understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques.

We're recruiting a Data Scientist to help deliver machine learning and AI solutions, taking work from data preparation and modelling through to deployment.

You"ll work alongside data engineers and UI engineers, turning business requirements into practical solutions and presenting results to stakeholders.

What you\'ll be doing

• Contributing to AI solutions, including document extraction, RAG pipelines and chat agents.
• Writing tested, maintainable Python and supporting model deployment and monitoring.

What we\'re looking for

• 2-5 years' experience delivering data science or machine learning projects.

• Experience with version control, automated testing and CI/CD.
• A relevant degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related field.

Experience with Databricks, Azure, MLflow or LLM-based solutions would be beneficial.
