Job summary

Bank of Ireland Group is inviting Senior Data Modellers to join our Group Data and Analytics Office (GDAO) to drive our data strategy and deliver insights for decision making. As part of our Agile Transformation, you will develop key bank data models, engage with major change and regulatory programs such as BCBS and SRB, and help mature data modelling standards and documentation across the Group.

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven business, logical and physical data modelling experience for a large complex enterprise, both development and maintenance.
  • Extract accurate user requirements and relate to model content or prototype extensions to existing models.

  • Creatively solve problems with innovative solutions where a template or process may not exist.
  • Leadership skills and ability to develop a pipeline of talent.
  • Agile delivery mind-set and experience working in an agile organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Development of key Bank data models via interaction with major change and/or regulatory programs e.g. BCBS, SRB.
  • Support the development of robust processes, standards and documentation for Data Modelling.
  • Help enhance internal modelling capability across the Group and build the Data Modelling Team.
  • Transform the Bank's reporting and data analytics processes and capabilities through standardized data stores.
  • Work as part of an agile delivery squad to understand project requirements and their impact on the data model.

Job description

Experience of Banking Industry Data Models, in particular Teradata FSLDM, will be an advantage

  • Experience with both normalized (Inmon) and deformalized (Kimball) approaches

Expertise in Erwin data modelling tool - Preferably Erwin

Secondary : Experience of data integration and/or migration will be an advantage, Jira, Confluence

In this Role, you will;

You will be responsible for development of key Bank data models via interaction with major change and/or regulatory programs e.g. BCBS, SRB

Support the development of robust processes, standards and documentation for Data Modelling

Working as part of the Group Data Modelling team you will help enhance internal modelling capability more broadly across the Group and also build and develop the Data Modelling Team

Be heavily involved in transforming the Bank's reporting and data analytics processes and capabilities through the development of standardised and integrated data stores

Working as part of a wider design capability, you will be involved in understanding project requirements and how these will impact the bank data model, working as part of an agile delivery squad

Essential Qualifications
