Job summary

Fruition Group Ireland is recruiting a Data Engineering Lead in Ireland (Westmeath area) on a permanent basis. The role combines technical leadership with people management to deliver scalable, secure data solutions and platform development.

You will set standards, govern data practices, and drive continuous improvement across the data platform. You will lead a team of Data Engineers, work with analytics and business teams, and ensure data quality, accessibility, and reliability to support

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT, SQL, data warehousing and systems integration.
• Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern cloud data platforms.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, governance, data quality and BI concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers with best practices.
• Define engineering standards, governance, and design principles across the data platform.
• Oversee development and optimisation of the Microsoft Fabric environment.
• Lead integration of new data sources and enterprise data models for reporting/analytics.
• Develop reusable frameworks, monitoring, and controls to improve data quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with analytics, reporting, and business teams to deliver trusted data solutions.
• Provide technical guidance through project delivery with security and scalability in mind.
• Maintain architecture, data models, and integration specifications documentation.

My client is based in Westmeath and is currently recruiting for a Data Engineering Lead to join the team on a permanent basis. The Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading the organisation's data engineering function, combining technical leadership with people management. The role focuses on delivering scalable, secure, and reliable data solutions while driving engineering standards, platform development, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Engineers, promoting best practices and technical excellence.
• Define engineering standards, governance, and solution design principles across the data platform.
• Oversee the development and optimisation of the Microsoft Fabric environment, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
