Job summary

CitySwift in Galway is seeking a Data Engineer to join our Engine team. You’ll build and evolve the core data processing engine, ingesting and cleaning high-velocity transport data to power automated pipelines and quality checks.

The role collaborates with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to translate complex transport logic into efficient engine code, optimize pipelines, and support daily processing for Explore, Evolve, and Discover products.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Experience building scalable data pipelines with ETL/ELT.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Proficiency in Python or Java.
• Familiarity with Spark, Airflow, dbt, Kafka.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting multi-source transport data.
• Develop automated data cleaning, validation, and deduplication logic.
• Optimise data pipelines for geospatial mapping and real-time/batch enrichment.
• Support pipeline management, monitoring, testing, and error handling.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams.
