Site Manager – Project Execution – Ireland
PE Global is seeking a Site Manager for a key client, a technology leader providing services to global customers, to lead all on-site activities of a project to assure cost-effective execution of project deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements during start‑up, construction (and/or erection), commissioning, and maintenance phases.
Responsibilities
- Plan site activities with the Project Manager, including necessary local resources, equipment, and milestones.
- Coordinate all on‑site activities from assignment to handover, ensuring successful execution of start‑up, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning in line with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, local authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure active support of field activities.
- Manage Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) and project security, maintain an up‑to‑date construction H&S plan, ensure all on‑site resources are trained and promote safety considerations; suspend activities if required.
- Ensure correct handling, storage, and installation of delivered equipment, coordinate on‑site storage and shipment logistics to secure timely delivery.
- Manage subcontractors on site to meet quality, progress, delivery dates, and agreed standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Basic Microsoft Project / Primavera skills.
- Previous experience in a supervisory, foreman, or chargehand role.
- Substation AIS / GIS experience.
- Excellent communication and customer‑relations skills.
- Negotiation skills in interactions with internal and external customers.
- Understanding of project contracts, consortium agreements, and Incoterms 2010.
- Ability to assess, propose, and implement solutions for rapid recovery of troubled or challenged projects.
- Self‑motivated with a high level of creativity.
- Electrical Engineering, Electrician, or a technology‑related equivalent qualification.
