Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Support and Value Assurance
    • To assist the Commercial and Planning team in the development and delivery of the DART+ Programme.
    • Ensure, in conjunction with the DART+ team that value for money is delivered and achieve.
  • Contract Compliance & Administration
    • Ensure full compliance with contract administration procedures, including reporting and addressing any instances of non-compliance.
    • Audit contractor and consultant accounts to verify alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Commercial Relationship Management
    • Support the management of commercial relationships with contractors and consultants.
    • Promote continuous improvement in the delivery of contracted works and services.
  • Contract Development & Negotiation
    • Contribute to the development of contracts, ensuring fitness for purpose by coordinating inputs from legal, technical, and financial advisors.
    • Participate in contract negotiations and provide commercial guidance to project teams.
  • Performance Monitoring & KPI Management
    • Assist in the development of incentivisation KPIs and monitor contractor performance against agreed targets.
    • Support the review and evaluation of contractor and consultant performance.
  • Proactively monitor and challenge cost variations and claims, providing clear and timely reports.
  • Ensure consistent communication and coordination with team members and other departments.
  • Support team development and performance through effective leadership and compliance with people management and HR policies.
Requirements:
  • Two to three years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of monitoring contractor and consultant performance.
  • Experience of establishing contractor and consultant performance management.
  • Experience in administrating contracts, in particular the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Experience in developing individual contract management strategies and implementation.
  • A good working knowledge of railway infrastructure and systems and operations.
  • A good level of IT literacy, especially with MS Excel.
  • Demonstratable understanding of good contract administration management procedures.
  • Experience in QS/contracts management in a railway environment.
  • Communication Skills.
