Agricultural Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Herd Manager for a dairy farm in County Cork, Ireland. The role covers day-to-day herd management, milking, breeding, grazing, and farm organisation within a progressive grass-based system.

The ideal candidate has commercial dairy farming experience, strong stockmanship, autonomy, and a valid driving licence. Salary is €45,000 DOE with accommodation and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Commercial dairy farming experience is essential.
• Strong stockmanship and cow health knowledge required.
• Ability to work independently and with a small team.
• Full driving licence is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Milk the herd twice daily with high milk quality and hygiene.
• Oversee breeding: heat detection, AI prep, body condition scoring.
• Calving, calf care, and youngstock management throughout the season.
• Administer health procedures per herd health programme.
• Grazing management, grass measurement, and feeding planning.
• Maintain herd and farm records; support management reporting.
• Assist with labour planning and day-to-day farm priorities.
• Contribute improvements to grassland and herd operations.
