Irish Cancer Society is seeking a Cancer Nurse to lead the Daffodil Centre at University Hospital Waterford. The role focuses on delivering specialist information, education and emotional support to patients, carers and staff, while promoting access to services and ensuring high-quality centre operations.

The post requires registered nursing with oncology knowledge, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

Registered nurse with oncology knowledge and experience.
Ability to discuss complex cancer needs with enquirers.
Leadership and organisational skills to manage the Daffodil Centre.
Excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to mentor and supervise volunteers.

Responsabilités

Be responsible for leadership/management of the Daffodil Centre and promote its services.
Provide specialist information, education and support to cancer patients, carers and healthcare professionals.
Develop and maintain information resources and deliver patient education programmes.
Mentor and supervise Daffodil Centre volunteers and support line operations.
Collaborate with hospital teams to ensure high-quality, accessible care.
