Job summary

Aramark Ireland is recruiting a Chef Manager in Galway (Mervue) to develop and execute catering solutions that meet customer needs and health & safety standards. You will facilitate delivery of prepared food, supervise daily kitchen operations, and lead a high‑volume team to ensure quality and service excellence.

You will manage menus, promote calendars, train staff, and drive catering revenue targets while maintaining compliance with safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• An approved catering qualification at diploma/degree level and /or 2-5 years industry experience, 2 of which were at management or department head level with a strong background in a high-volume hospitality, conference and banqueting operation.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrates excellent people management skills.
• High knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP.
• Ability to manage in a diverse, pressurised environment with a client-focused approach.
• Commercially focused with budgets and ability to achieve targets.
• Actively seeks change and drives continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver consistent quality in planning and execution of events.
• Demonstrate established company solutions to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency.
• Lead kitchen team to support daily production while upholding standards and safety.
• Train and lead staff to ensure menu knowledge and promotional calendars.
• Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback; plan daily huddles.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's model.
• Implement marketing guidance to grow catering revenue.
• Deliver food and labour targets and execute revenue forecasts.
• Execute varied catering events and manage staffing.
• Ensure compliance with food, occupational and environmental safety policies.
• Follow safety, health, wage and hour regulations.
• Maintain staff records including training, schedules and performance data.
• Maintain reporting of catering revenue, expenses and receivables.
