Job summary

SuperValu in Ireland is seeking a Bakery Assistant to support daily operations in the bakery department. You will bake and finish products to the highest standard while delivering excellent customer service and engaging with shoppers.

The role requires attention to detail, flexibility, and a team‑oriented mindset in a fast‑paced store environment. Training will be provided to ensure consistent quality and brand compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation or production is desirable.
• Being a qualified baker is a distinct advantage.
• Creative and able to embrace new recipes.
• Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs.
• Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible.
• Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales through instore initiatives.
• Merchandise and present the Bakery department to the highest standard.
• Adhere to weekly stocktaking and daily waste procedures in the Bakery.
• Adhere to production planning and batch control guidelines for bakery products.
• Conduct quality and freshness checks.
• Attend relevant training and implement learnings in store.
