QT Technologies Ireland Limited in Cork is seeking a Qualcomm CPU Engineer to participate in CPU design verification and multi-core operations across business units. You will collaborate with design and performance teams to validate new features and optimize performance.

The role emphasizes RTL-based verification, scripting for performance analysis, and benchmarking, with a strong foundation in Verilog, C, and C++. Relocation and international collaboration are possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or related work experience.
• PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in CPU architecture areas: fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, retire.
• Understand RISC-V ISA and core/subsystem microarchitecture.
• Develop test cases with design and performance teams to validate features.
• Analyze and verify performance at multiple levels of simulation and emulation.

The Potential Areas To Work Include

The main responsibility of this position is to do the performance verification for world-class custom CPUs for server-class computers.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Proficiency in one or more areas of CPU architecture: fetch, decode, branch prediction, renaming, execute units, SIMD, load/store, MMU, caches, retire, etc.
• Understanding of both the RISC-V ISA and our core and subsystem microarchitecture
• Work with design team and performance team to develop test case and validate new features
• Analyze and verify performance characteristics at multiple levels of simulation and emulation
• Writing performance analysis tools
• Running benchmarks and workloads under different conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• MS degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
• 0-15 years of experience
• Good CPU architecture knowledge and micro-architecture knowledge
• Experience working in an RTL simulation environment
• Proficient in Verilog, C and C++ and scripting languages such as Perl or Python
• Ability to problem solve and prove your own ideas
• Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads
