Job summary

Lincoln Recruitment Specialists is seeking an experienced Cost Group Accountant in Leinster to drive costing accuracy and margins across multiple sites. The role partners with operational teams to deliver actionable insights and improve business performance.

You will develop standard costing, analyse variances, and support budgeting and forecasting. Strong SAP costing experience and advanced Excel skills are essential in this hands-on, data-driven position.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' cost accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting systems and methodologies.
• Advanced Excel skills and data interpretation ability.
• SAP costing experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining consistent product costing methodologies across multiple sites.
• Analyzing product costs, margins and production variances.
• Setting and reviewing annual standard costs covering materials, labour and overheads.
• Investigating material and production variances and supporting corrective actions.
• Developing reporting around costs, margins, absorption and production variances.
• Supporting inventory valuation and margin analysis.
• Working with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Pricing and Continuous Improvement teams.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Identifying cost-saving and performance improvement opportunities.
• Providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Developing strong expertise in SAP costing systems and acting as a key user across the Group.
• Training colleagues on costing processes and systems.

Cost Group Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Cost Accountant who enjoys working with data, analysing costs and margins, and partnering with operational teams to drive better business performance.

Working closely with the Senior Group Cost Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring consistent costing data and analytics across the number of sites.

You will be responsible for:

• Developing and maintaining consistent product costing methodologies across multiple sites
• Analysing product costs, margins and production variances
• Setting and reviewing annual standard costs covering materials, labour and overheads
• Investigating material and production variances and supporting appropriate corrective actions
• Developing reporting around costs, margins, absorption and production variances
• Supporting inventory valuation and margin analysis
• Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Pricing and Continuous Improvement teams
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Identifying cost-saving and performance improvement opportunities
• Providing insightful analysis and recommendations to management
• Developing strong expertise in SAP costing systems and becoming a key user across the Group
• Supporting and training colleagues on costing processes and systems

You will ideally have:

• At least 3 years' Cost Accounting
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting systems and methodologies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• A strong understanding of accounting principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working with manufacturing and engineering teams
• Experience analysing and developing cost standards
• Strong reporting and data interpretation skills
• SAP experience is highly desirable
• Experience working within a global or international organisation

You’ll also need to be commercially minded, highly analytical and comfortable challenging the status quo and presenting insights that support better business decisions.

While this role is fully onsite there are flexible start and finish times and shortened hours on a Friday
