As a core Group Function, Group Technical Services (GTS) supports Operating Companies through initiatives focused on performance improvement, quality enhancement, and sustainability. GTS operates Task Forces across six global clusters, each focused on five key technical domains: Energy, Kiln Economy, Alternative Fuels & Raw Materials (AFR), Maintenance, and Quality.
Each Task Force is typically chaired by a Plant Manager, with members drawn from Production, Process, Maintenance, Engineering, and other senior technical roles across CRH plants. GTS appoints a Task Force Leader for each topic to support regional performance and ensure global knowledge flow. The Task Force Leader guides regional groups toward operational excellence, coordinates knowledge transfer, and facilitates the adoption of best practices, including attending cluster Task Force meetings, supporting roadmap development, ensuring alignment with CRH’s technical priorities, and chairing global sessions for cross-regional learning.
