Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Cook for the Tullamore Community, Brampton posting. Starting rate is $26.13 per hour under the collective agreement. The role supports residents with meals and dietary needs, in a culture focused on dignity and respect.

You will set up kitchens, prepare meals from recipes and production sheets, and ensure safe food handling. The position offers health & dental benefits, RRSP with employer match, SOAR, and ongoing growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
• Experience cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude to meet residence standards.
• Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check required (Ontario/BC).

• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation
• Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu documentation
• Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities
• Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advising team leader of problems
• In the absence of the team leader, assume responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes, requisitions and purchases
• Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members
• Performing other duties as assigned

As a Cook your typical day will impact in the following ways:

• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation
• Preparing meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes and other menu document as provided
• Providing for prescribed diets, at appropriate temperatures and in portion controlled quantities
• Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action
• In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers
• Assisting in the orientation and training of new team members
• Performing other duties as assigned

Must haves:

• A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate
• Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality
• Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check. Applicable to Ontario applicants
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants

Bonus points for having:

• Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify
