Job summary

Northern Trust in Ireland seeks an Associate Specialist, Control Tester to join the Centralized 1LoD Control Testing function. You will execute risk-based control tests and support testers, contributing to standardized testing across business lines.

The role offers independent work with supervision, opportunities to deepen expertise in control frameworks, and collaboration with senior stakeholders to address deficiencies and remediation actions.

Qualifications

• College or university degree required.
• Several years of risk and control experience.
• Experience in financial services industry or transfer agency is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of control frameworks and testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leads controls testing execution including walkthroughs, design, and operating effectiveness testing.
• Performs quality review of testing workpapers to ensure accuracy and adherence to methodology.
• Lead representative to engage stakeholders in all critical testing phases.
• Provides support to Testers to ensure testing is effective and efficient.
• Monitors all testing phases including escalation of deficiencies and delays.
• Compiles, manages, and socializes monthly, quarterly or annual testing reports and dashboards.
• Helps identify and escalate follow-ups and remediation actions.
• Collaborates with business partners to obtain remediation action plans and tracks status.
