Job description

  • Location: North Dublin, Ireland
  • Engagement: 12 Month Rolling Contract (potential duration: 3 to 4 Years)
  • Working Pattern: Standard Day Shift (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, flexible start available)
  • Remuneration: Competitive hourly rate
  • Sector: Pharmaceutical / Chemical API Manufacturing (GMP)
The Opportunity

If you are looking for rare contract stability on site with an industry leader within the pharma sector, this engagement is backed by an approved multi year capital budget offering an expected 3 to 4 year project runway.

You will gain direct exposure to a major site wide plant modernisation program while taking full ownership of critical production systems, all on a dedicated 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM day schedule with start time flexibility that avoids shift rotations and unpredictable callouts.

The site is currently executing a major, multi year capital automation upgrade, transitioning across to Emerson DeltaV. To enable the internal projects team to focus entirely on driving the migration, a dedicated contractor is required to take charge of plant floor DCS operations, routine batch troubleshooting, and production critical automation support.

Key Responsibilities & Technical Scope
  • Operational Control: Act as the primary technical point of contact for daily plant floor automation issues across synthesis, formulation, and utility systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Remediation: Diagnose complex automation faults, phase logic errors, interlocks, and communication drops to maintain production continuity.
  • Lifecycle Documentation: Execute GMP change controls, system updates, and minor software revisions strictly aligned with GAMP 5 guidelines, site validation protocols, and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations.
  • Modernisation Interface: Collaborate closely with the capital project team executing the DeltaV migration, assisting with cutover alignment, commissioning support, and operational handovers.
Essential Technical Qualifications & Profile
  • Demonstrated background in configuring, commissioning, or sustaining Emerson DeltaV (v12/v13/v14+) within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Solid working knowledge of S88 batch structures, GAMP 5 methodologies, and data integrity standards.
  • Proven ability to navigate live manufacturing areas, coordinate with cross functional teams (Operations, Quality, Maintenance), and resolve live control issues under standard operating procedures.
  • Any prior exposure to older legacy control systems is welcome and helpful, but strong DeltaV proficiency remains the core priority.
