Job summary

Glanua is seeking an Construction - Operations & Maintenance Technician to cover sites in Mayo, including Ballinrobe, Claremorris and Ballintubber. You will take ownership of water and wastewater treatment facilities and perform regular checks to maintain quality and compliance.

The role requires 1 year of experience with no formal qualification. You will work largely alone, with site visits, reporting, alarms response, and involvement in HSQE checks and potential projects.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of allocated water and wastewater treatment plant facilities to ensure quality and compliance with specs
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly operation and maintenance checks
• Carry out grounds maintenance including grass cutting, cleaning and facilities upkeep
• Walkthrough sites, inspect all plant areas and record tasks in the Site Reporting App
• Respond to critical alarms to maintain plant outputs and standard
• Assist with CRF project delivery when applicable
• Mentor and train junior staff as needed and provide cover at different plants

Job Description

Base: Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Ballintubber Co. Mayo some of the sitesyou will be covering as follows LoughCarra Wtp, Ballycroy Wtp, Glenhest Wtp, Belderrig Wtp, Fahy Wtp, Kilmeena Wtp, Killeen Wtp, Laghta Wtp, Drummin Wtp, Lough Mask Wtp, Glencorrib Wtp, BrackloonSpaddagh Wtp, Kilmovee Urlaur Wtp) and other sites as requested by your manager. The main duties and responsibilities of the Operations.Maintenance Technician are outlined as follows: Take ownershipand responsibility for allocated water and wastewater treatment plantfacilities ensuring standards of quality and cleanliness are upheld. Perform daily,weekly, monthly, and other periodic operation and maintenance checks to ensurethe quality and quantity of any treated water produced or final effluenttreated is within specification. Completegrounds maintenance activities including grass cutting, cleaning and facilitiesmaintenance. Predominately,normal day-to-day duties involve working alone, therefore all O&MTechnicians are required to carry a lone working device and use it as per thespecific operating procedure. O&MTechnicians must visit each site on a regular basis. A site visit report on theSite Reporting App must be filled in on each visit to the plant. Welcomevisitors and provide induction upon first visit, record this and any subsequentvisits on the Site Reporting App. O&MTechnicians must perform a walkthrough of the site, visually inspecting allareas of the plant and treatment process, and record the tasks as outlined inthe Site Reporting App for each applicable plant. Respond tocritical alarms when required to ensure water and wastewater treatment outputis maintained. Conduct andrecord process adjustments as required to ensure treated water and treatedwastewater outputs are to the required standard. A HSQEwalkthrough of each water and wastewater treatment plant must be carried out ona weekly basis. O&M Technicians must complete and submit the Weekly HSQEChecklist for Operations. Assist with thedelivery of the CRF (Capital Replacement Fund) projects when & whereapplicable. Show aneagerness to learn and progress in your own career as well as the mentoring andtraining of more junior staff. Other duties asrequired from time to time. The Role:As an O&M Technician you will be assigned ownershipofcertain water and wastewater treatment plants, and will be responsible toensure the quality and quantity of any treated water produced or final effluenttreated is within specification, and that each of the assigned sites, theirfacilities, grounds, contents and individual process’ are operated &maintained as required. All O&M Technicians will work in conjunction witheach other and may be required to undertake duties and provide cover at variousplants.
