Ayrton Group are seeking a Health and Safety Officer for an ongoing project with an Irish building contractor and property development company. The successful candidate will provide practical health and safety guidance, support compliance with legislation and best practice, and drive initiatives that ensure a safe and positive workplace for everyone.

Qualifications

• 1+ years work experience in Health and Safety.
• Recognised qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline.
• Construction environment experience required.
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling training/certification.
• Ability to work on own initiative and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong IT and reporting skills; maintain safety records and reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with stakeholders.
• Legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site audits/inspections for compliance with company and client procedures.
• Support managers and supervisors in promoting a strong safety culture and embedding responsibilities at all levels.
• Advise on safety topics (noise levels, machinery use, etc.).
• Review policies and update according to legislation.
• Assist in initiating and organizing Health and Safety training.
• Inspect premises and personnel to identify issues or non-conformity.
• Manage incident reporting, near misses, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Review Safe Work Plans for site tasks.
• Carry out inductions and toolbox talks as required.
