Job summary

McKeon Group is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor to support project delivery across Leinster, with the head office in Ashbourne, Co. Meath. The role focuses on safety, sustainability, quality, and regulatory compliance, reporting to the EHS Manager.

Responsibilities include preparing RAMS, managing permits, conducting site inspections, and delivering inductions and toolbox talks. Strong communication and Procore/iAuditor experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Third level qualification in Environmental / Health & Safety
• Experience in construction HS (ideally with main contractor)
• Excellent written and spoken English; clear documentation
• Strong planning, organisational and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with EHS legislation in consultation with EHS Manager
• Support ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 management systems
• Prepare Project-Specific Safety Plans and RAMS
• Submit AF2 notifications to the HSA
• Manage RAMS and safety reviews for subcontractors
• Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks
• Carry out site visits, inspections, and audits
• Prepare documentation for pre-qualification submissions
• Attend site meetings and provide EHS reports
• Drive safety culture and continuous improvement across sites

Position:

We have a number of exciting projects due to commence in the coming months and are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Advisor to join our team. This is a key role supporting the successful delivery of projects to the highest standards, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, quality, and regulatory compliance.

Working closely with the EHS Manager, project teams, and subcontractors, this role will play an integral part in promoting a positive safety culture across all sites while ensuring full compliance with current legislation and company management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS legislation in consultation with the EHS Manager
• Support company compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 management systems
• Prepare Project-Specific Safety Plans and associated documentation
• Submit statutory notifications (AF2) to the HSA
• Prepare and review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements)
• Manage Work Permit applications and related site documentation
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits
• Review and approve subcontractor RAMS and carry out subcontractor safety reviews
• Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks to promote safety awareness
• Assist with employee safety training reviews and competency records
• Prepare and compile documentation for pre-qualification submissions
• Attend site meetings where required and provide relevant EHS reports
• Support additional EHS initiatives and projects as required

Reports to: EHS Manager

Location: Head Office in Ashbourne Co. Meath.Projects can be located across Leinster but predominantly Dublin & surrounding counties.

Requirements:

• Third Level Qualification in Environmental / Health and Safety required
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in H&S in Construction, ideally with Main Contractor
• Excellent verbal and written English with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels within the Company
• Have a high level of competency and accuracy in writing and maintaining clear and professional documentation
• Previous experience of Procore and iAuditor an advantage
• Possess strong planning, organisational and teamwork skills
• Experience of working in live environments such as educational facilities beneficial
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, staff and sub-contractors.
• A strong commitment to promoting a culture of Safety and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
