Job summary

Glanua in Ireland is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician/Commissioning Engineer to support water and wastewater projects on site. You will read schematics, perform FAT/SAT coordination, supervise subcontractors, and contribute to safety, quality and on-time commissioning of MEICA systems.

The role requires a 5-year post-apprenticeship background, RECI electrical qualification, and a full driving licence; you will liaison with clients and process engineers to optimise performance and

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified in Electrical or E&I with 5+ years post-apprenticeship experience.
• Mechanical experience and water/wastewater sector knowledge preferred.
• Experience commissioning MEICA systems and FAT/SAT sign-off.
• Valid full driving licence and Safe Pass.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams in commissioning documentation and test packs.
• Install and commission electrical, instrumentation and control systems on site.
• Supervise suppliers and site staff; coordinate with Maintenance and Service teams.
• Read drawings and schematics; perform initial power-up and checks.
• Attend FATs/SATs and provide sign-off on behalf of the company.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:The main duties and responsibilities of the Industrial Electrician/ Commissioning Engineer are outlined as follows:Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.Support project delivery teams in the development and preparation of commissioning test documentation.Responsible for delivery and commissioning of small to large sized Electrical installationsInstallation and commissioning of different types of instrumentation and equipmentInstallation of Pumps and associated VSD and controls.To be able to read and understand working drawings and Schematics.Conduct initial power-up of MCC's and complete rotation checks on motors and I/O point- to-point checks (dry testing).Set up instrumentation in the field and scale instrument 4-20 mA signals back to PLC. calibrate any instruments requiring field calibration.The position includes responsibility for supervision of suppliers and sub-contractors and also site-based staff. You will also co-ordinate with the project team and Service & Maintenance Dept. as required.Work with Process Engineers in order to optimise and improve the process performance of water and wastewater infrastructure.Complete all commissioning documentation including pre-test inspections, commissioning sheets and SAT documentation.Proactively review and monitor your own work schedule and ability to work on your own initiative is essential.Some Wastewater & Water process awareness would be beneficial.Electrical systems fault finding and recertification.Attend third part Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) as required and provide acceptance sign-off on behalf of the company.Complete preliminary installation checks and provide completion snag lists to mechanical and electrical sub-contractors.Knowledge, Skills and Experience:The main knowledge, skills, and experience required of the Industrial Electrician/ Commissioning Engineer are outlined as follows:Trade Qualified in Electrical or E&I RECI [or equivalent] certified electrician with 5 years post apprenticeship work experience.Mechanical experience a distinct advantageExperience in Water/Wastewater a distinct advantageExperienced in the commissioning and process proving of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation (MEICA) systems.Ability to liaise directly with customers on commissioning activities and sign-off.Full clean driving licenceSafe PassManual Handling Certificate
