Job description

Description

The primary focus of this role is to maximise value recovery from decommissioned IT hardware by identifying opportunities that are not currently being captured. This individual will operate at the sub-component level, with a particular focus on identifying recoverable items within assemblies— for example, individual chips or other high-value elements that may not be visible at a higher-level disposition review. The role will span the full lifecycle from opportunity identification through to implementation, working cross-functionally to turn findings into operational outcomes. Findings and recommendations will feed into the broader value recovery strategy owned by the NPI Coordinator. As the programme matures, the scope of this role may evolve to support broader value recovery and reverse logistics initiatives.

re:Cycle Reverse Logistics is an electronics processing, reuse, and recycling company that works to extend the life of used electronic equipment with a specialization in the handling of valuable electronic hardware used in data centers. We are a stand‑alone company within the Amazon corporate family. This role seeks a talented, detail-oriented, and technically curious individual to join our Value Recovery team and help us unlock additional value from the hardware we process—identifying recovery opportunities that are not currently being captured and working cross‑functionally to turn those opportunities into operational reality.

Key job responsibilities
  • Assess components and assemblies recovered from rack demanufacturing and other sources to identify untapped value recovery opportunities.
  • Identify recoverable sub-components across a range of hardware types, including proprietary and third‑party OEM products.
  • Work cross‑functionally with Operations, Systems, Engineering, and Commercial teams to operationalise value recovery opportunities from concept through to implementation.
  • Support the development of workflows and processes to capture identified value at scale.
  • Document findings, maintain records of recovery opportunities, and track progress against identified initiatives.
  • Contribute to other value recovery, reverse logistics, or related projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Business, Procurement, Logistics, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Analysis, Construction, or other related fields.
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with electronic components— able to inspect assemblies and identify individual sub-components such as ICs, transistors, capacitors, and connectors, and understand their function.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment.
  • Experience implementing process improvements.
  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
  • Experience working with global cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience in IT asset disposition (ITAD), electronics recycling, or component recovery.
  • Experience using inventory or asset management systems.
  • Adaptable and willing to take on a variety of work as the role and programme develop.
