Job summary

CareChoice is seeking a kind and reliable part-time weekend Housekeeping Assistant for our Clonakilty Home to provide excellent standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.

The ideal candidate will have a good level of English, be able to work independently or as part of a team, and be comfortable with varied shift patterns Monday to Sunday. Training and Garda Vetting are provided.

Qualifications

• Desirable prior experience in a similar environment
• Passion for elder care and keeping residents safe and comfortable
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Professional, caring and empathetic nature
• Comfort with a sometimes challenging environment
• Good level of English

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of general areas and residents' rooms in the home
• Proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and solutions
• Collect and dispose of domestic waste correctly
• Clean spills and use wet floor signs
• Collect trays, use dishwasher and keep kitchen clean in the unit
• Wash crockery and cutlery as required
• Set up trays for meals
• Maintain safe work practices and a safe environment
• Rotational and flexible shifts according to home needs
