Care Connect Group IRL is seeking compassionate Community Support Workers to join our team across Cork, Kerry, Waterford, and beyond. You will support individuals in their homes and communities, helping with daily living, promoting independence and dignity, and building meaningful relationships. You don't need years of care experience; attitude, reliability and willingness to learn matter.

Garda Vetting is required. QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or Social Care is essential.

As a Community Support Worker, you will work alongside individuals in their homes and within their local communities, supporting them to develop confidence, maintain their independence and take part in the things that matter most to them.

About the Role

As a Community Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support based around the individual’s own needs, choices, goals and aspirations.

You will support individuals with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal routines, while always promoting dignity, choice, independence and respect.

No two days will necessarily be the same. You could find yourself supporting someone to prepare a meal, attend an appointment, go shopping, take part in a community activity, pursue a hobby, meet friends, manage their home, or simply enjoy a day doing the things they love.

Our aim is not simply to provide care -it is to support people to live the life they want to live.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing compassionate, respectful and person-centred support to individuals in their own homes and communities.
• Supporting individuals with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, dressing, meal preparation, household tasks and maintaining personal routines where required.
• Promoting independence by encouraging individuals to do as much as possible for themselves and make their own choices.
• Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community.
• Accompanying individuals to appointments, social activities, shopping, leisure activities and community events.
• Supporting individuals to develop and maintain meaningful relationships and social connections.
• Encouraging participation in hobbies, interests, education, employment and other activities that contribute to a fulfilling life.
• Supporting individuals to develop confidence, life skills and greater independence.
• Providing emotional support, reassurance and companionship.
• Recognising and respecting each individual’s preferences, communication style, culture, choices and personal goals.
• Supporting individuals to maintain a safe, comfortable and welcoming home environment.
• Following individual support plans, risk assessments and organisational procedures.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues, families and other professionals involved in an individual's support.
• Maintaining accurate and appropriate records and reporting any concerns or changes in an individual's needs.
• Promoting safeguarding, dignity, privacy and the rights of every individual.
• Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team to ensure consistent and high-quality care.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential

• Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in: Healthcare Support / Social Care / Community Care / Applied Social Studies
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities/Care of the elderly
• Knowledge of person-centred planning and safeguarding practices

Desirable

• Experience community support services
• Manual handling training
• Hseland Courses complete
