Job description

We are seeking a Community Coordinator to join our team in a residential care home in New Bridge, Co Kildare

Working pattern: Monday to Sunday, 5 days per week, flexibility required!

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To oversee the daily operations of the community
  • Coordinate and support community activities within the scope of the role, in partnership with the Nurse Manager, Housekeeper, and the Sisters.
  • Act as a point of contact for families of the Sisters when needed, and assist Sisters with correspondence and communication.
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Manager, Housekeeper, and all members of staff to ensure the smooth functioning of the community.
  • Drive community vehicles to various destinations as required.
  • Address the concerns or grievances in a calm, sensitive, and timely manner
  • Engage actively in the daily routines and events of the community
  • Undertake any additional tasks deemed necessary by Management
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of and compliance with the Safeguarding Policy.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality at all times.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisation skills and ability of prioritising own work
  • Conflict Resolution skills: Diplomacy and fairness in mediating concerns
  • Minimum of 2 years working with elderly people
  • Computer literacy
  • Basic health and safety knowledge
