A local community organization is seeking a Community Centre Worker for the Knockmitten Community Centre. Job description
Overview

Community Centre Worker - Knockmitten Community Centre. Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department. To register your interest you can contact an Employment Personal Advisor (EPA) in your local Intreo Centre. Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Duties

This position is for 19.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday with rotational Saturdays. Flexibility is required for this CE placement to work mornings/afternoons/evenings. Knockmitten Community Centre opening hours are: 9.00am - 10.00pm Mon-Fri; Saturday 10.00am - 1.30pm.

Job Description: The community centre worker will work as part of the community centre team. This list is non-exhaustive and may be revised from time to time.

  • Carry out reception duties.
  • Answer the phone.
  • Take bookings.
  • Provide information on the centre’s activities.
  • Meet and greet centre visitors.
  • Help and support children’s and seniors’ clubs and groups.
  • Assist in the general cleaning and upkeep of the centre.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the centre manager and/or Board of Directors.
