This ensures that research outputs from Tyndall combine excellence with impact in terms of clinical utility and commercial opportunity.
Tyndall National Institute at University College Cork invites applications for a position as a Commercialisation Lead for a recently funded project. The project will involve the development of a novel wearable electrochemical sensor solution for selected veterinary applications in the Life Sciences Interface Group. You will join a team in the Life Sciences Interface Group, with the explicit aim of commercialising a novel electrochemical sensor solution, through a new start-up company to be launched in 2027.
An essential element of this role will be to engage with potential end-users, customers and Key Opinion Leaders related to this new sensor solution technology, and to gain an understanding of how the system could address their unmet needs. Based on this information and together with an analysis of the relevant regulatory, standards and reimbursement requirements applicable, a key task will be to establish a clear User Requirements Specification (URS). This will inform the creation of a draft business plan for the start-up company detailing the proposed growth strategy, pricing model, and sales structure.
Appointment may be made on the Grade 5 Admin (B) € 51,307- € 62,926 per annum. Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
