Job Title: Cloud Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Dublin (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Salary: €56,000 – €80,000 DOE

About the Role

Join a dynamic, global organisation at the forefront of cloud innovation. As part of the Cloud Engineering and Data teams, you'll take the lead in managing secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud database systems. This is a hands-on role for a Cloud DBA who’s passionate about automation, cloud-native tools, and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in cloud database administration
  • Strong SQL and relational DB skills (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Hands-on with cloud DB services (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, etc.)
  • Exposure to NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • IaC experience (Terraform / CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of security, compliance (GDPR), and cost control
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Preferred: Azure or AWS cloud DB certifications
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, manage, and optimise cloud-based databases
  • Ensure high availability, security, and performance
  • Automate operations using scripting and cloud-native tools
  • Develop backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers to build scalable DB solutions
  • Implement IAM, encryption, and compliance controls
  • Monitor usage and manage cloud costs
  • Resolve DB issues and support continuous improvement
