Job description

Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a Clinical Transformation, Change & Clinical Risk Lead to join their team. The duration of this post is 12 months initially with likely extensions thereafter. This role will be Flexible/Hybrid Working - The successful candidate must be able to attend client sites as required.

Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €33.52 per hour based on an annualised salary of €61,219. You will accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays.

Role Purpose

The Clinical Transformation, Change & Clinical Risk Lead will support the successful national deployment and adoption of by leading the clinical transformation, organisational change and clinical risk activities associated with implementation.

The role will work closely with Oracle Health, hospital and laboratory teams to understand current clinical workflows, identify opportunities for standardisation and improvement, assess the impact of proposed changes, and ensure that changes to clinical processes are safe, appropriate and deliverable.

The post holder will act as a key interface between the Programme and clinical stakeholders, providing constructive challenge where required and ensuring that clinical requirements are balanced with national standardisation, patient safety, system capability and programme objectives.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead clinical transformation, clinical hazard and change workstreams within individual deployments.
• Ensure clinical transformation activities are aligned with the overall deployment schedule.
• Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Clinical Safety, Testing, Training, Technical and Configuration teams.
• Provide regular progress reporting, including RAG status, risks, issues, dependencies and decisions required.
• Contribute to deployment readiness assessments and ensure that outstanding clinical and change activities are appropriately managed prior to go-live.
• Support and facilitate the following workstreams during system deployment:

Clinical Transformation & Workflow Design

• Lead and support clinical workflow analysis as part of client’s deployments.
• Engage with Oracle Health, clinicians, laboratory staff and operational teams to understand current-state workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support development of future-state clinical workflows that support safe, efficient and standardised use.
• Ensure that workflow decisions are evidence-based, clinically appropriate and aligned with the national design.
• Challenge existing processes where they are inefficient, inconsistent, unnecessary or introduce avoidable risk.
• Support clinical teams through the transition from current-state to future-state processes.

Clinical Risk & Patient Safety

• Lead the identification, assessment, management and escalation of clinical hazards associated with implementation and workflow change.
• Facilitate clinical risk and hazard identification meetings with relevant clinical and laboratory stakeholders.
• Ensure that identified clinical hazards are appropriately documented, assessed, mitigated and tracked through to closure.
• Work with Clinical Safety, Clinical Governance and Programme teams to ensure appropriate clinical risk management throughout the deployment lifecycle.

Change Management & Organisational Change

• Lead the clinical change management approach for deployments.
• Assess the organisational and operational impact of proposed changes across laboratory and clinical services.
• Identify barriers to adoption and develop strategies to address resistance or competing local requirements.
• Support clinical and operational leaders in communicating and embedding changes.
• Monitor adoption of new workflows and identify areas requiring further intervention

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience working in a healthcare transformation project
• Demonstrable experience of leading or managing clinical change and/or transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows and the impact of technology and process change on clinical services.
• Experience identifying and managing clinical or patient-safety risks associated with process or system change.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
