Qualifications

• First level registration.
• Registration with NMBI (Nurse Midwife/General Nurse).
• Managerial training or experience is an advantage.
• Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills.
• Sound decision making ability.
• Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative.
• Ability to work well and promote a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead clinical practice to ensure policies and best clinical standards are followed.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain standards and implement action plans where needed.
• Review residents’ conditions and coordinate appropriate management plans.
• Oversee medication administration and stock control; liaise with GPs/pharmacists for reviews.
• Supervise staff and participate in training and development with the Director of Nursing.
• Conduct audits and promote hygiene, safety and documentation standards.
• Interact with residents and relatives, acting as a key contact and ambassador for the home.
• Assist in/direct management duties and rostering in the absence of the Home Manager.
