The candidate will provide clinical leadership, drive competency-based training, ensure quality standards and coordinate with radiology managers to deliver education and governance across the department.

Qualifications

  • CORU-registered radiographer with a minimum 6 years post-qualification experience.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Radiography is required.
  • Demonstrated clinical, managerial and administrative experience in radiography.
  • Experience in teaching, assessing and supporting radiographers in clinical practice.
  • Strong education, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Promote high-quality, safe, patient-centred care within Radiology.
  • Assess and enhance Radiography practice through education and supervision.
  • Coordinate orientation, induction and training for Radiographers, HCAs, students and graduates.
  • Provide clinical supervision and ensure competency learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators and Radiology Managers for placements and staff development.
  • Develop and evaluate clinical competencies, policies and guidelines.
  • Identify training needs via audits and clinical observation and organise in-service education.
  • Support audits, quality initiatives and compliance with CORU and legislation.
  • Maintain accurate clinical and educational records and participate in meetings.

We are currently recruiting a Clinical Facilitator - Radiologyfor a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland . This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dynamic healthcare team and contribute to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a modern clinical environment.

Responsibilities

Support the Hospital’s mission by promoting high-quality, safe, compassionate and patient-centred care within Radiology.

Assess and enhance Radiography and Healthcare Assistant practice through structured education, clinical supervision and professional development.

Coordinate and deliver orientation, induction, clinical adaptation and training programmes for Radiographers, HCAs, undergraduate, postgraduate and new graduate staff.

Provide direct clinical supervision and support to staff and clinical adaptation candidates, ensuring required competencies and learning outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes.

Coordinate with Clinical Coordinators, Radiology Managers and preceptors to facilitate effective clinical placements, assessments and staff development.

Develop, implement and evaluate clinical competencies, policies, protocols, guidelines and practice development initiatives in line with evidence-based practice.

Identify education and training needs through clinical observation, audits and consultation, and organise appropriate in-service education and professional development programmes.

Promote continuous quality improvement, patient safety and best practice by supporting clinical audits, accreditation activities, quality initiatives and compliance with CORU and relevant legislation.

Maintain accurate clinical and educational records, ensure effective communication with multidisciplinary teams, and participate in relevant meetings, committees and collaborative initiatives.

Demonstrate strong clinical and professional leadership by fostering teamwork, supporting staff development, promoting a respectful workplace culture and maintaining high standards of Radiology practice.

Requirements

CORU-registered Radiographer with a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience and a relevant postgraduate qualification in Radiography.

Demonstrated clinical, managerial and administrative experience with the ability to effectively fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

Significant experience in teaching, assessing and supporting Radiographers in clinical practice, preferably within the last 7 years, with strong education, coaching and mentoring skills.

Experience in developing Radiography practice, conducting clinical audits and implementing quality improvement initiatives to support high standards of patient care.

Strong knowledge of Radiographer education, clinical practice and professional development, with the ability to apply relevant theoretical and clinical knowledge to complex situations.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to promote open communication, teamwork and interdisciplinary learning.

Demonstrated professional integrity, commitment to ethical practice, continuous professional development and quality service delivery, with willingness to develop and utilise IT skills relevant to the role.
