Job summary

Coffey is seeking a Site Engineer to join our team in Donegal. The role oversees delivery of civil engineering projects from planning through completion, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to contract requirements.

The successful candidate will have a Civil Engineering degree, 3–5 years of site experience, strong setting-out and surveying skills, and a valid Irish or EU driving licence. Stamp 4 or Critical Skills Permit is required.

Qualifications

• Degree or Masters in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years' experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering projects.
• Strong setting out, surveying and site coordination experience.
• Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
• Knowledge of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements within a construction environment.
• Full clean Irish or EU driving licence.
• Authorized to work in Ireland (Stamp 4 or Critical Skills Employment Permit).

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site engineering activities, including setting out, surveying, site coordination and supervision of site personnel and subcontractors.
• Prepare project documentation including method statements, risk assessments, traffic management plans, programmes, technical reports, site diaries and as-built drawings.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients, consultants, utility providers, local authorities and statutory bodies to support project delivery.
• Monitor quality, safety and environmental compliance, ensuring works are carried out in accordance with company procedures, specifications and legislative requirements.
• Coordinate labour, plant and material requirements, including procurement support, material requisitions and project reporting.
• Resolve technical issues on site and support programme management to ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved.
