Job summary

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (NFQ level 7 or higher) in Engineering
• Five years of satisfactory relevant engineering experience
• High standard of technical training and administrative experience
• Driving licence for class B vehicles (where required)
• Desirable: BIM knowledge and its application in design, construction and asset management
• Experience in budgeting, procurement and value-for-money approaches
• Strong interpersonal and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage engineering/ancillary services and work programmes.
• Support delivery of projects through design, planning, procurement, construction supervision and financial management.
• Manage consultants and contractors including procurement.
• Administer construction works contracts and discharge Employer's Representative duties when required.
• Manage staff performance and industrial relations issues as needed.
• Prepare budgets and ensure works are within allocated funds; monitor draw-downs from funding agencies.
• Promote Health and Safety and compliance with PSCS/PSDP responsibilities across capital projects.
• Liaise with elected members, community groups, businesses and residents; prepare reports for meetings.
• Coordinate public consultation and engagement with key stakeholders; maintain accurate records and GIS updates.
• Collaborate with other directorates and external authorities to improve delivery efficiencies.
