Job summary

A local child care organization in Athy is seeking individuals for a developmental role in child care. This position requires no prior experience, as accredited training will be provided. Candidates must have a genuine interest in working with children, excellent communication skills, and be willing to complete QQI Level 5 in Early Learning & Care. Supportive teamwork and daily record-keeping will be essential parts of this role.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must be prepared to complete QQI Level 5 in Early Learning & Care which is fully funded by DSP.
  • A genuine interest in working with children is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the health and wellbeing of each child using the service.
  • Assist in planning and implementing activities.

Job description

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

  • Under the supervision of the manager/room leader to ensure the health and wellbeing of each child using the service.
  • Work as part of a team, keep daily records, assist in planning and implementing activities, liaise with parents / guardians and assist with personal care needs.
  • A genuine interest in working with children, excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of a team and motivation to study are required.
  • Applicants must be prepared to complete QQI Level 5 in Early Learning & Care which is fully funded by DSP.
