This Work Placement Experience Programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning, and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance.

Job Description

The programme offers an opportunity to assist with the administration of the center, working alongside the manager in a non-contact role. Daily tasks will include:

  • Assisting the manager with scheduling team meetings and managing calendars
  • Assisting with communicating project details via email and phone to team members and stakeholders
  • Assisting with entering project data into spreadsheets to track schedules, budgets, risks, and issues
  • Assisting with research by sitting in on stakeholder interviews and reviewing documentation
  • Assisting with administrative tasks such as printing, scanning, and filing project materials

Our school-age service comprises over 80 children in 4 different locations, with the main location in Crossmolina. We are registered with Tusla and ensure all policies and procedures are followed.

Role Description

This is a training and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary. Accredited and/or sector-recognized training will be provided to support your placement, including:

  • 2 hours per week of instructor-led project management fundamentals training
  • Online courses on Microsoft Office software and Children's First
  • Coaching on business writing skills for emails and reports

Informal training will also be provided, including participation in brainstorming sessions and shadowing project managers.
