Job summary

A leading analytical laboratory in Galway is looking for a Chemist I to join their team for a 12-month onsite role. You will perform analytical testing using various techniques, drive continuous improvement projects, and support the training of new colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a Level 8 qualification in a relevant field and at least 1 year of laboratory experience. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.

Job description

Chemist I

Location: Galway

Duration: 12 months

Job Type: Onsite

In this role you will join a team of Chemists who work on method development, dissolution testing and project work.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs analytical testing on drugs and drug combination products with Liquid/Gas Chromatography, Elution, Spectroscopic and Wet Chemistry techniques.
  • Responsible for Laboratory investigations ensuring timely disposition/closure.
  • Responsible for continuous maintenance of systems in line with corresponding regulatory changes & product lifecycle revisions.
  • Possess a complete understanding of relevant processes systems and policies and understanding of how they interact with department.
  • Drives continuous improvement projects to reduce testing lead-times/cost savings.
  • Works independently to plan and schedule activities to meet project timelines.
  • Supports Training of new colleagues.
  • Supports Internal and External Audit programs.
  • Support Regulatory submissions.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of Level 8 in Chemistry, Biology, Material Science, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year relevant laboratory experience.
  • The candidate will have excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills that are results oriented.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and execute on daily tasks.
  • Ability to work and be effective with minimal supervision.
