Job summary

Sodexo in Dublin (Ballyboden, Dublin 16) is seeking a Chef Manager to lead daily kitchen operations, plan menus, prepare meals and ensure nutritional standards in a fast-paced client environment.

You will manage a small team, oversee stock and cost control, rota planning, and ensure health and food safety compliance while maintaining high quality and independent ownership.

Qualifications

• Experience as Chef Manager or senior chef.
• Strong leadership and team management.
• Experience with staff scheduling and rota planning.
• Good understanding of health & safety and HACCP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver approximately 25 main meals daily, plus breakfast and supper.
• Plan balanced menus and manage stock, placing orders and minimising waste.
• Lead a small kitchen team and ensure health & safety compliance, HACCP procedures, and cleaning schedules.
• Prepare staff rotas and ensure adequate staffing across a 7-day operation.

Chef Manager

Ballyboden, Dublin 16 - Full time

What you'll do:

• Food Preparation & Service
  • Prepare and deliver approximately 25 main meals daily, along with supper and Breakfast
  • Ensure meals are nutritious, well-presented, and suitable for residents
  • Maintain high standards of food quality and consistency
• Plan balanced and varied menus
• Manage stock control and place orders
• Minimise waste and ensure cost-effective use of ingredients

Team Management & Compliance

• Lead and manage a small team on a daily basis
• Ensure all staff comply with health & safety and food safety regulations
• Monitor HACCP procedures, cleaning schedules, and safe systems of work
• Address any issues or non-compliance appropriately

Scheduling & Organisation

• Prepare and manage staff rotas
• Ensure adequate staffing levels across a 7-day operation
• Manage holidays and arrange cover when required

Administration (Light Duties)

• Support basic administrative tasks
• Provide occasional cover for payroll or admin during holidays

What you'll bring:

• Experience as a Chef Manager or senior chef
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Experience with staff scheduling and rota planning
• Good understanding of health & safety and HACCP
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
