Job summary

A local community organization in South Dublin is seeking a Centre Worker for Bawnogue Community Centre. This role is a developmental opportunity where no previous experience is required, and accredited training will be provided. Responsibilities include supporting cleanliness standards, assisting the Manager, and participating in training. Suitable character references are needed for applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manager in maintaining cleanliness at the Centre.
  • Inform Manager of maintenance/repairs required.
  • Ensure garden and carpark are clean and well-kept.
  • Support fire safety standards in the Centre.
  • Provide potential customers with information on Centre activities.
  • Engage in general cleaning and preparation of the Centre.
  • Undertake necessary training as required.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Applicants should supply suitable character references and be prepared to complete a Garda vetting application form.

Job Description
Duties

This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.

Duties include:

  • Support the Manager in ensuring all rooms are kept to a high standard of cleanliness at all times in conjunction with other staff.
  • Inform the Manager of any maintenance/repairs required.
  • Ensure garden and carpark are clean and well-kept.
  • Support the Manager in ensuring fire safety standards are upheld at all times in the Centre.
  • Be aware of all Centre activities and in a position to provide potential customers/clients with information on Centre schedule.
  • Engage in general day to day cleaning and preparation of Centre.
  • Undertake any training deemed necessary by the Manager/Management Committee.
  • Any other duties as may be required from time to time.

It should be noted attending training is an integral part of the C.E. Programme.
