Orange Recruitment is seeking a Cath Lab Nurse for a leading private hospital in Dublin. This permanent, full-time role involves delivering high-quality care in a state-of-the-art cardiac cath lab, supporting cardiologists and a multidisciplinary team across diagnostic and interventional procedures.

The ideal candidate is an RGN with ACLS, postgrad cardiology or critical care qualification, and experience in cath lab settings, committed to patient-centred care and continuous professional

Qualifications

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with NMBI.
• Experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, CCU, Cardiology Ward, ICU or similar acute care setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiovascular conditions and interventions.
• Commitment to patient-centred care.
• Postgraduate qualification in Cardiology Nursing or Critical Care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation and interventional procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide ongoing assessment before, during, and after treatment.
• Assist cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Monitor haemodynamic status and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures.
• Administer medications safely in line with hospital policies and guidelines.
• Provide patient education and support regarding procedures and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and CPD activities.
• Contribute to effective operation of the Cath Lab including on-call requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterisation laboratory, delivering exceptional patient care across a broad range of diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting consultants and multidisciplinary teams while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, patient safety, and compassionate care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterisation and interventional procedures.
• Prepare patients for procedures and provide ongoing assessment before, during, and after treatment.
• Assist cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Monitor patients' haemodynamic status and cardiac rhythms throughout procedures.
• Administer medications safely and accurately in line with hospital policies and professional guidelines.
• Provide patient education and support regarding procedures, recovery, and ongoing cardiac care.

• Contribute to the effective operation of the Cath Lab service, including emergency and on-call requirements where applicable.

Candidate Requirements Essential Criteria

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Experience working within a Cardiac Cath Lab, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Cardiology Ward, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or relevant acute care setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of cardiovascular conditions and cardiac interventions.
• Commitment to delivering patient-centred care.
• Previous Cath Lab experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Postgraduate qualification in Cardiology Nursing, Critical Care, or a related specialty.
• IV medication and cannulation competencies.
