Job summary

Blackrock Health Galway Clinic in Galway on-site is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for a permanent, full-time role (39 hours per week). The successful candidate will work under the supervision of CNM/Staff Nurse, assist with activities of daily living, and help maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Requirements include QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support; prior experience is desirable. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for daily collaborative nursing tasks.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support.
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Work under the supervision of the CNM/ Staff Nurse.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to assist activities of daily living.
• Deliver practical nursing care assistance.
• Maintain clean and tidy unit; assist with bed making and linen.
• Move or assist with equipment and furniture as necessary.
• Assist with disposal of clinical waste per hospital policy.
• Escort patients and attend to hygiene of equipment.
• Prepare bed areas for new patients and document belongings.
