Job summary

SignaCare in Bunclody, Co. Wexford, Ireland, is seeking a permanent, full-time Catering Assistant at our Newtownbarry site to support residents with meals and services.

The role focuses on hygiene, food service, and HACCP compliance within a supportive team environment. The ideal candidate has catering experience in a nursing home or similar setting, strong customer service skills, and an ability to work well both in a team and independently.

Qualifications

• Previous catering experience in a nursing home setting or similar role is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with sensitivity towards residents.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• HACCP training would be advantageous.
• Flexible working hours and ability to work in a team or on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Hygiene and cleanliness of food preparation areas.
• Food serving and basic cleaning tasks.
• Organise food preparation areas and adhere to food safety procedures.
• Ensure facilities are replenished and tidy during service.
• Support residents' service in a timely and professional manner.
• Be prepared to take on additional duties as needed.
• Follow HACCP standards and complete daily records.
