Job summary

FT Workforce is recruiting an experienced Carpenter Working Foreman for ongoing construction, refurbishment and repair projects in County Wicklow. You will oversee two projects—Arklow and Wicklow Town—working hands-on while supervising trades on site.

The role requires strong carpentry skills, leadership, and the ability to read drawings. Immediate start with long-term potential for permanent employment in a stable firm.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Carpenter Working Foreman or similar.
• Strong carpentry background in general building/refurbishment.
• Experience leading trades and labour on site.
• Hands-on leadership while supervising on site.
• Experience with doors, fire doors and partitioning.
• Solid knowledge of construction methods and repairs.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Reliable, hardworking attitude and safety-focused.
• Safe Pass and construction qualifications held.
• Full driving licence is an advantage.

FT Workforce is currently recruiting an experienced Carpenter Working Foreman for ongoing construction, refurbishment and repair projects in County Wicklow.

The successful candidate will work across two projects, one in Arklow and one in Wicklow Town.

The Projects

Arklow:
Working on the refurbishment and repair of a large, historic Georgian building. The works include general carpentry, building repairs, maintenance, repairs to existing gates and other associated construction works.

Wicklow Town:
Working on a project involving fire doors, partitioning, carpentry and general building works.

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Carpenter Working Foreman who can oversee works on site while also carrying out carpentry and general construction duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating day-to-day works on site
• Managing and coordinating trades and labour on site
• Carrying out first and second-fix carpentry works
• Installation, repair and adjustment of doors and fire doors
• Partitioning and associated carpentry works
• General building repairs and refurbishment
• Carpentry repairs to existing structures, gates and associated works
• Reading and working from drawings where required
• Ensuring work is completed to a high standard
• Ensuring projects remain on schedule
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised site
• Liaising with management, contractors and other trades
• Working hands-on alongside the team when required

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Carpenter Working Foreman, Carpenter Foreman, Chargehand Carpenter or Senior Carpenter
• Strong carpentry background with good knowledge of general building and refurbishment works
• Experience supervising and coordinating trades and labour
• Ability to lead a team while remaining hands-on
• Experience with doors, fire doors, partitioning and general carpentry
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and building repairs
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Reliable and hardworking attitude
• Safe Pass and relevant construction qualifications
• Full driving licence is an advantage
