Job summary

Sodexo in AbbeyFeale, Limerick, is seeking a dedicated Caretaker/ Cleaner for a part-time role. You will help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for clients and staff, with a focus on daily cleaning, basic safety checks, and responsive support.

The role offers a 35-hour week across Monday to Thursday 12pm–7pm and Friday 11am–6pm, with on-site parking and a benefits package. A strong sense of responsibility and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during term time.
• Practical DIY or maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and respond calmly in emergencies.
• Good communication skills.
• Previous experience as a caretaker, handy person, facilities assistant or fire warden is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Providing care and support to clients, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Provide basic First Aid assistance in emergencies.
• Support safe operation of the building, including HVAC training.
• Carry out light maintenance and DIY tasks as required.
• Ensure premises remain secure, safe and well maintained.
• Report incidents, hazards or maintenance issues promptly.

What you’ll do:

• Providing care and support to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being, and assisting with daily activities.

• Provide basic First Aid assistance in the event of an emergency

• Support the safe operation of the building, including training in HVAC systems

• Carry out light maintenance and DIY tasks as required

• Ensure the premises remain secure, safe and well maintained

• Report any incidents, hazards or maintenance issues promptly
