Job summary

Cheshire Ireland is offering a permanent part-time Care Support Worker role based in Lucan, Co. Dublin. The position requires availability for a 24-hour, seven-day roster and a Full Manual Driving licence.

QQI Level 5/6 qualifications or Nursing background are preferred, with English proficiency and Garda Vetting mandatory. Candidates with prior disability-care experience are welcome; those without qualifications can enroll in QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support within 18 months.

Qualifications

  • Hold or be in the process of undertaking a minimum of QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or a minimum of QQI Level 6 Social Care or a Nursing qualification.
  • Have experience in supporting people with disabilities.
  • Candidates who have experience and no qualifications may be hired if they are willing to undertake and complete QQI Level 5 Healthcare Support within 18 months of the commencement of their role.
  • Hold or be working towards gaining a Full Manual Driving license and willingness to drive for work.
  • The role requires availability to work all shifts across a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week roster.
  • Desire for personal and professional development
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland is essential.
  • Good Standard of verbal and written English.
  • Computer literate (experience with online care management systems an advantage).
  • Personal integrity and trustworthiness.

Responsibilities

  • You will support people with all aspects of their daily lives as per their individual needs and in accordance with their evolving personal plans to support them to live their best possible lives.
  • You will establish and maintain relationships with the people we support based on respect and equality, promoting their rights and independence.
  • Assist with daily activities and participate in the rostered shifts to ensure continuous care delivery.
